Herbal Health for Children

In this five week course we want to teach you to confidently give your young child herbs for general wellbeing and for common childhood complaints, but to also to know when you need to seek further help.

In each session we will cover common illnesses that can be effectively supported by herbs. Our last session will be Q & A session, crafted around the questions you specifically want answered which we will collect from you during the course. This course will contain invaluable information from babies to adults.

In each session you will learn basic medicine making skills with easily accessible herbs that you can either buy or pick, so you can continue to make these medicines throughout their childhood.

First Session - Your Child's Wellbeing
We will start by focusing on general wellbeing and health rather than illness. We will cover herbs that you can get into your child's general daily life that are full of nutrition, enhance immunity, calm spirits, help with digestion and build general resilience. We will also look at a 'holistic' approach to immunity to see all the things that can be supported to build a child's immunity.
Medicine making: an immune glycerite (a sweet tasting medicine but with no sugar or honey)
This is a tonic that can be taken every day with herbs that enhance immunity and wellbeing.

Second Session - Acute Immunity part 1 (Colds & Fever)
We will cover treating colds and fevers and other viral infections
Medicine Making: a Herbal Immune/Cough syrup. A blend of useful herbs that are anti-microbial so can help with boosting immunity during colds and for all types of coughs to be used in conjunction with the herbal balm from the previous week.

Third Session - Acute immunity part 2 (Coughs & Chest Infections)
We will cover how to support different types of coughs, chest infections, tonsillitis, croup and earache.
Medicine Making: a Herbal "Vicks' balm which is not petroleum based like vicks so the herbs can actually be absorbed into the skin. This can be used for chest infections, coughs, swollen glands, earache, tonsillitis, and sinusitis.

Fourth Session - Bumps and Bruises and injuries
Herbal first aid in the home, including bumps bruises and injuries.
Medicine Making: a general bump & bruise ointment. This is an incredible ointment that can help bring down bumps and bruises very quickly. It can also be used for general healing for grazes and cuts.

Fifth Session - Questions and review
In this session we will be responsive to your needs, and cover the common conditions that you most want to know about. We will collect ideas and topics from you over the preceding few weeks

This is a five week course for 2 hours each week. It is 105 - 125  pounds including all materials.
We can provide a creche if the need is there but it will be an extra 10 pounds per child for each session. If you would like this then you need to contact us and pay in advance.
