Saturday 1st October 2023 at Grow Wilder, Frenchay hosted by Avon Wildlife Trust.
10 am - 4 pm
In this one day workshop we will learn how to recognise, harvest, prepare and use the herbs best harvested in the autumn. Concentrating on roots and fruits, learn their medicinal properties and discover how to make mineral rich immune tonics, berry oxymels, warming joint and muscle rub and medicinal root beers, using the wild herbs that we harvest on the day.
On this one day course, you will learn how plants can help you with your immune health and general wellbeing and concoct medicines to take home with you! You will also gain an understanding of how to use plants to build resilience and long-term immunity.
We make use of common wild herbs that grow in the hedgerows and fields and would often be considered 'weeds' in the garden.
Learning outcomes:
You will need a basket of some sort, a small digging tool if you have one, and warm clothes.
